Bookshare for the Blind has Wendy’s Books

People who have difficulty reading traditional print books can now access five of Wendy Maltz’s books — The Sexual Healing Journey, Private Thoughts, Intimate Kisses, Passionate Hearts, and The Porn Trap — on the Bookshare.org website.

Bookshare is a service of the American Foundation for the Blind. It provides high quality text to speech voices, digital braille, and other user-friendly formats for a wide array of books.  Due to an agreement with major publishers, this wonderful no-cost service enables people with visual impairment, physical disability, or severe learning disability to read the books that matter most to them. HealthySex.com made this happen based on the suggestion from a caring woman with visual impairment who contacted us and who wanted the books available for herself and others.

“What Sex After Sex Abuse Is Really Like” article

Writer Tracy Clark-Flory provides readers a close look into the after-effects of sexual assault in a new article, “What Sex After Sexual Assault Is Really Like,” in the online magazine Refinery29. The piece features expert advice from sex therapist Wendy Maltz LCSW DST, and mentions, The Sexual Healing Journey: A Guide for Survivors of Sexual Abuse as a resource. Clark-Flory also discusses the wisdom of Wendy’s “relearning touch” exercises and the importance of moving slowly back into being sexual when recovering from this type of trauma.
