Wendy’s Incest & Sexuality Book Now FREE
Posted on February 28, 2017 by Wendy Maltz - Sexual Abuse Healing
Wendy Maltz’s first book, the recovery classic, Incest & Sexuality: A Guide to Understanding & Healing is now available for FREE download through the International Psychotherapy Institute’s free psychotherapy books program. Coauthored with Beverly Holman, it was first published in 1987 by Lexington books, and later republished by Jossey-Bass. It broke new ground being the first book to devote itself entirely to the sexual repercussions of sexual abuse.
Wendy remembers writing it by hand on a yellow legal pad and later literally “cutting and pasting” (with scissors and glue!!!) the typed versions of early drafts to make edits. Incest & Sexuality sold over 50,000 copies during its first few years alone, and educated both professional and public readers, for many years more until it went out of print. While understandably a bit dated now, given that it’s been 30 years, it remains a groundbreaking healing guide filled with stories, concepts, and heart-felt ideas that are still relevant to people today.
